Delia Yapp.  Alumni Chair

Delia is serving in her second year as Chair of the Alumni Association of District 1210 having taken part in a GSE exchange to District 5690 Kansas and Oklahoma in 2008. Delia works in Economic Development at Shropshire Council facilitating business networks and projects to encourage economic growth and prosperity in the region.



Outside of work Delia’s family are Farmers, Delia lives on a beautiful farm in Herefordshire with a menagerie of sheep, horses, dogs and her pet pigs and is kept busy as a Committee member for her local agricultural society. A keen sportswoman, Delia swims regularly, plays netball and rounder’s competitively and has become an avid rugby fan since taking on a Directors role at her local rugby club.

Beverley Ricketts.  Alumni vice chair

Beverley is a qualified Low Vision Optician, obtaining her Fellowship of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians in 1992.

Her career has given her the opportunity to sit on Staffordshire Local Optical Committee, with the aim of supporting and developing all of the profession locally, as well as chairing South Staffordshire Optical Society.

With the Charity Vision Aid Overseas she has been on a voluntary basis to Uganda, Ethiopia, India and Ghana., Burkina Faso Vision Aid Overseas is a charity dedicated to providing eye care to people in Third World Countries. With no other means of obtaining this treatment, VAO provides eye testing and the dispensing of spectacles donated by the British Public. In recognition of this work she was awarded the Service Above Self Award by the Rotary Club of Cannock 2005.

Her personal interests have veered towards the great outdoors and she has an Outward Bound Award, and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. More recently she is developing an interest in genealogy, investigating her own ancestry, and enjoys all aspects of History.
Her partner, Roger, an engineer, shares her interests and is supportive of the role she plays in the community.

Her plans for the future include continuing involvement with Vision Aid Overseas, continued commitment to the work of Rotary, future development of eye care in the community and with further specialist interest in Low Vision Practice.

She was made a Paul Harris Fellow in June 2008


Amy Shenton. Secretary

 Amy is current Secretary of Alumni 1210 and is one of its founding members.  Like Delia, Amy became involved in Rotary in 2008 on a GSE exchange to District 5690, Oklahoma & Kansas. 
Amy works as a Victim Care Officer for the national charity, Victim Support.  Amy offers emotional & practical support to anyone who has been affected by crime.


When not at work Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her 2 God children.  She regularly tries her hand at a local pub quiz and occasionally wins.  Amy has started growing her own vegetables and loves to cook with them too. Amy loves to travel makes the most of her weekends and time off.

Hayley Goodwin.  Alumni Treasury

Hayley is the current Treasurer for the group and is also one of its founding members since participating in the 2008 on a GSE exchange to District 5690, Oklahoma & Kansas. 
Hayley is a solicitor and heads up the Commercial Department for Else Solicitors LLP based in Burton on Trent and Birmingham City Centre.


There seems to be little time outside of work commitments but Hayley makes sure that she spends plenty of time with family and friends.  She also likes to cook and go to the local gym, she is the Secretary and a Director for Trentham Watersports Association (until recently a competitive rower - in a boat - not an argument!), and a rather novice golfer.
